Dunbar Real Estate Investments is a Los Angeles based real estate investment and management firm that invests in real estate on behalf of investors and provides property management services to our third party clients. Ross Mitchell, CFA
In his role as President of Dunbar Real Estate Investment Management, Ross Mitchell has overall responsibility for the firm’s investment and management activities. Since inception in June 2011, Dunbar has acquired over one and a half million square feet of value-added industrial real estate in thirty-five separate transactions in Phoenix and Southern California including the acquisition of non-performing loans. Dunbar acquires assets on behalf of private and institutional capital sources.
Through the course of his career Ross has successfully executed in excess of over $300 million of core through value added real estate investments. Additionally, Mr. Mitchell has a deep background in the management of real estate having overseen the property and asset level management of over 100 properties with an approximate market value close to $500 million.
Prior to founding Dunbar, Ross was a Vice President of Investments at Cohen Asset Management, Inc. in Los Angeles where he helped acquire almost 4 million square feet of industrial and office property throughout California, Arizona, Texas and the Midwest. Investments varied from stabilized assets to distressed debt to value added joint ventures with institutional partners.
From 2003 to 2006 Ross managed the acquisition and development of industrial property for KFG Investment Company (formerly Larwin Investment Company) in Southern California. Earlier in his career Ross managed a portfolio of over one million square feet of office and industrial assets at Morguard Investments Limited in Vancouver, Canada.
Ross earned a bachelor of commerce in real estate from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and a master of real estate development degree from the University of Southern California. Additionally, Ross holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.
Mr. Mitchell has been a speaker at the University of Southern California (USC) Lusk School for Real Estate, is actively involved with USC as a mentor for graduate real estate students and has served as a board member of the USC School of Policy, Planning and Development’s alumni board.
He resides in Manhattan Beach, California with his wife, Stephanie, and their five young children.
As Vice President of Dunbar Real Estate Investment Management, Rick Knight is actively involved in the acquisition, management and disposition of the firm’s assets. Rick has built a track record of success as an investor, broker, consultant and commercial real estate manager. His experience includes a broad range of asset types including, medical, industrial, office, retail, multifamily and government facilities.
Through the course of his career Rick has successfully executed in excess of $200 million of value added real estate investments. Additionally, Mr. Knight has an extensive background in the management of real estate having overseen property and asset management of over 150 properties with an approximate market value close to $300 million.
Rick earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and entrepreneurship from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA. Rick also has a master of real estate development degree from the University of Southern California.
Rick professional affiliations include Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and the University of Southern California Lusk Center of Real Estate. Mr. Knight has also been a guest speaker at the University of Southern California.
Zack is responsible for all aspects of the real estate investment lifecycle including acquisition, asset management, and disposition of assets. Zack has experience with a broad range of real estate asset classes including office, industrial, multifamily, and hospitality properties. Through the course of his career, Zack has successfully acquired real estate valued in excess of $200 million.
Zack holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from The George Washington University and earned a master of real estate development degree from the University of Southern California.
